Northamptonshire Police is supporting a national cyber security campaign following a rise in ransomware attacks against UK businesses. Between April 2025 and March 2026, 323 UK organisations reported ransomware attacks. In the same period, there were 33 reports of ransomware attacks in Northamptonshire. Ransomware is a type of cyber attack where criminals encrypt your data and demand payment to restore access. Businesses are encouraged to remain vigilant and take simple steps to reduce their risk.
